AHS Patients Say Thank You

From Arbour Hospital:

• “I was extremely pleased with the ECT staff. They were so kind and comforting in a tough time. Thank you very much.”

• “I would like to thank the staff at Arbour Hospital for their hospitality and service shown to me during my time of crisis. I would especially like to acknowledge the team of nurses, doctors, social workers, and all other service associates on North 2 for the outstanding care they provided to me as well ... Thanks to you, I believe I am on the right path to recovery and hope to stay the course for all the right reasons.”

• “My son become suicidal in December ... I knew that unless there was a huge change in his treatment that my beautiful, intelligent, sensitive and creative son would soon die ... When he was transferred from the ER to the Arbour, I was sure it would be more of the same ... Then we met ... someone how would listen. Someone who cared about my son. Someone who was not burned out, worn down and frustrated with the system. Someone who would try her best to salvage a future for my son. After 11 hospitalizations we had finally met someone who was willing to take the steps necessary to ensure that my son could get the help he, and we, so desperately needed ... We will be forever grateful to her for all she has done for my son and our family.”

From Arbour-Fuller Hospital:

• “To the entire staff in 1A (adolescents): We want to thank all of you for your support, understanding, but most of all for your help with our child. Your guidance and kind words helped us through a tough time. It means more than you know. We are on the right road with our child and committed to stay that way. Thank you for all your help.”

• “Thank you so much for all your help while I was there in October. I am 10 weeks sober and clean and can’t believe I’ve actually come this far! I really appreciate you all and all the work you did to instill good values in me! I am so grateful! Thank you again!”

From Arbour-HRI Hospital:

• “I had many positive experiences that I would like to make you aware of: 1. The hospital cafeteria had excellent, well-prepared food! 2. Although I did not attend groups or fresh air breaks, I found that other patients found them to be helpful. I now also take breaks to help relieve stress and sadness. 4. I thought my psychiatrist had a good sense of humor and was helpful informing me about my medications. The primary care doctors also had a good sense of humor along with some nurses. 5. The bathrooms, floors and rooms were very clean. 6. Room checks were conducted with a great respect for the patients. 7. I appreciated the fact that the Human Rights Office advocated and assisted me in and outside the hospital.”

From Pembroke Hospital:

• “I am writing this letter to let you know that there are a bunch of staff members that I have helped me while I was a patient on East 2. One of them is from the second shift. She stands by the rules and explains everything with respect during conflict. She is someone that I could put my trust into 100% and I have trust issues as it is. She is someone that is caring towards all staff and patients at all times and still able to laugh with them too. I really think that she should be acknowledged by the work she puts into this hospital every day. Another staff is also from second shift. He is certainly in the right field; he has respect for everyone he is easy to trust and has been a big support in my treatment. So I also think that he should be acknowledged also for both of them doing such a good job with both my stays here at Pembroke Hospital.”

From Lowell Treatment Center:

• “I would just like to thank the partial hospitalization director for her time, thoughtfulness, and assistance when I met her last week for an initial informational visit. My son will soon be discharged from an inpatient unit and then attending the Lowell program. I am comforted and confident about my son’s upcoming care at the Lowell
Center based on my initial visit. I just wanted to say thank you.”
